My New Home
FINALLY! I've finished making the move to Squarespace. It took me a few evenings, a lot of trial and error, and a complete lack of web design understanding to do it, but here we are. With this new home for my website has come a new home for my blog. So, with that in mind, welcome to my new site. And blog.
I just got back from a short vacation to Washington, D.C. to see my family and eat crabs on the Chesapeake Bay. No, I'm not kidding, eating blue crabs on the bay was 49% of the reason I went. Seriously. Have you ever had blue crabs? Fresh, steamed blue crabs? I live in Los Angeles and all we get is dungeness, snow, and king. They all suck. They don't even come close.
FOR REAL.
Go get yourself some on the bay. Then we can talk.
Anyway, the trip was pretty good, though not exactly relaxing or productive. I was able to get an extra day off when I got back to LA to decompress, though, which was nice. It was, of course, great to see my family. It was especially nice to see them in a season that wasn't the dead of winter. D.C. winters are gross.
How did my writing fare? Not great. I got a couple hours in here and there while at my parents' house and then did some major reworking on the plane ride back. The extra day for compression was good because I got a couple hours in there, too. Overall though, I'm not impressed. I have to get back into the rhythm of things. Hopefully this new site/blog migration is the kick I need.
